Costa Rica is a small country with a big heart for conservation. It’s been estimated that Costa Rica has 6% of the world’s biodiversity in less than .03% of the land mass. Within this small area, 25% of the country is designated as a national park, biological reserve, national wildlife refuge or private nature reserve. That is the highest percentage of protected area in the world.

We also highlight the smaller boutique local hotels and eco-lodges such as Arenas Del Mar Resort, Hotel Si Como No and The Pacuare Lodge, which is so deep in the jungle that you whitewater raft into and out of.
